Reimagining The Together Project’s Storytelling
When The Together Project came to me, their website’s story wasn’t shining through as brightly as their real-world impact. Their mission, to reduce social isolation by connecting people across generations via fun, and creative programmes, was powerful. But the website didn’t yet fully express that warmth, clarity, or the breadth of their work.
I began with a full audit, mapping out how visitors engage, testing how accessible the content is across devices, and tracing how the website structure supported different audiences (participants, partners, funders, volunteers). I looked at how the stories, impact numbers, programmes, and ways to get involved were presented, and whether each felt coherent, compelling, and easy to find.
For the redesign, I focused on bringing their core values forward: joy, connection, and inclusion.
Essential changes were:
Restructuring the navigation so visitors immediately see what The Together Project does, what its impact is, and how they can join in.
Highlighting impact metrics in ways that feel human and tangible.
Using imagery, colour, and layout choices to reflect energy, and intergenerational connections.
Ensuring accessibility, responsive design, and clear pathways for engagement, whether someone is looking to volunteer, partner, donate, or simply learn more.
The final website brings their work to life, intuitive to explore, emotionally engaging, and built to encourage meaningful interaction. Whether people come wanting to find a programme, read stories in the blog, or support the charity, everything is clearer and more inviting.
